Follows the exploits of the young sorceress Lina Inverse, whose life revolves around food, treasure, and fighting. After stealing treasure from a group of bandits, Lina is accosted by stragglers during her journey to the next town. In one of the many dungeon cities, Raust, a healer scorned and cast out of his party for being too weak, struggles to find his place. Amidst despair, he meets martial artist Narsena, who invites him to form a new party together. With a fresh start and renewed motivation, the two begin their journey to greatness.

After the defeat of the demon lord Hadlar all of the monsters were unleashed from his evil will and moved to the island of Delmurin to live in peace. Dai is the only human living on the island. The two students then go off on a journey to avenge Avan and bring peace back to the world.
